Lake Bosomtwi, a major natural lake in Ghana is about 30km south-east of Kumasi.
Bosomtwi has a diameter of 10 kilometers and a depth of about 86m in the centre.
It is surrounded by hills of about 400m high which are covered by green vegetation.
The lake was formed by meteor and has a perimeter of 30 km.
There are over 30 fishing and farming villages dotting around the lake.
Bosomtwi's basin is an ideal location for mountaineering, diving, swimming and relaxation.
