The National Museum | About Ghana

The museum provides knowledge on the cultural heritage of Ghana and other neighboring countries with an archaeological department located on the first floor.

The museum's ground-floor wings are used for temporal exhibitions which include contemporary dyed fabrics, traditional and sacred artifacts such as the black Asante ancestral stools.

The exhibition halls are decorated with traditional Kente murals.

The various Kente designs have their own special meanings.
