Yeji | About Ghana

Yeji is a town with a population of about 35,000 inhabitants located on the shores of Lake Volta in the Atebubu District in the Brong Ahafo Region

The strategic location of the town has turned it into an important market centre and a major transport hub, which serves as a transit point between the north and south of Ghana for goods and people.

Visitors would have opportunity of exploring the shore of the lake, whose villages include Salaga, Bimbila and Yendi. Visitors can also organise fishing expeditions with the local boats owners, who will transport you in their pirogues to the best fishing sites.

It is also possible to traverse the lake from kete-Krachi to opposite western shores and the 3,120 square kilometres of Digya national Park. The park offers a wide variety of savannah wildlife, including herds of antelopes, a large monkey and warthog population and a smaller number of lions and elephants
